Marian Wellman has had an income tax and financial planning practice for over 25 years, and is thoroughly educated and trained in all aspects of financial advising. Following receipt of an MBA in Finance from University of Colorado, she began her career in 1983 with the predecessor of today’s Ameriprise Financial Services, a division of American Express. She spent ten years with a boutique Denver firm specializing in income tax preparation, comprehensive financial planning, real estate and investments, and launched her own private practice in 1996.
Wellman Financial Consulting, partnering with estate planning attorneys and insurance executives, provided a unique combination of complete financial advice for each client, from the simplest tax preparation to comprehensive planning. In addition, Marian also served as a Planned Giving Director for a church-based multi-state charitable foundation, and served on boards of several non-profit agencies.
Marian has earned many certifications and designations, including Certified Financial Planner, Enrolled Agent (enabling client representation before the IRS), Certified Estate Planner, as well as Registered Principal for her firm. An accomplished public speaker, she provided dozens of lectures and workshops yearly on a full range of tax planning and financial topics to audiences in several states, as well as a 10-part tax series on local television.
“I have been a client for over twenty years, and have always received wonderful and caring service. She takes complete care of me for anything financial.” Pat V.
“Marian is a great communicator, and always takes the time to answer any questions and explain things thoroughly. She can take complicated subjects and make them very easy to understand.” Veronica B.
“I had my taxes done, and then ran into some IRS problems with getting my refund. Marian worked with me all the way, calling the IRS and staying with the problem until it was completely solved. She provided help all the way from start to finish.” Bill and Susan W.
“I am a dual citizen, and needed advice for investments in other countries. It’s wonderful having a tax person who can combine that knowledge with investment knowledge. I finally feel like the left hand knows what the right hand is doing! She’s given me advice and ideas that I would never get from “just” a broker, or “just” a tax preparer, and it’s all part of her total service.” Verena S.
“Marian has been a Guest Speaker for our 8-Day Educational Focus on Mexico programs in Lake Chapala for some time now. Her topic U.S. taxes as well as Cost of Living in Lake Chapala is very well covered and her knowledge in the field of U.S. taxes comes across clear and precise. She has a complete understanding of how to maximize the benefits for U.S. citizens that live here in Mexico, either full or part time. Plus her sense of humor helps tremendously when dealing with a topic like 'taxes'. We continually receive excellent feedback from our clients.” Marie Dwyer-Bullock, Focus on Mexico
